For 10 years we fantasized about selling everything and moving onto a boat. In 2013, Bob was ready to go, but I was not. I loved my home and community in Georgetown, and was enjoying work at LLBean. But this past January, after a particularly long winter and a couple of weird health issues, we both decided that the time had come. We put the house on the market in May, with the realtor telling us to start packing, that the home would sell in two weeks. It didn't, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as we avoided Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Throughout the summer, showings were sparse and offers were non-existent. Then, just as we had resigned ourselves to another winter in Maine, we got an offer. We closed on September 20th, and began our newest adventure.
This blog is here to let our family and friends track our progress. It's also here so that we can savor the good times later, learn from the pitfalls and perils that are bound to be part of the journey, and keep a record of our adventure of a lifetime.
